Many fabrics especially home decor fabrics are processed with formaldehyde. It can make you ill. I react to the dust and lint with violent sneezing.

It's the cotton dust, honey. Shop owners should be mindful of dust allergies, etc. and always have a staff member roaming with a vaccuum in hand.

I get migraine headaches when ever I go into a shop that has any kind of perfume. I don't wear any for tht reason but I ado have a nice one that is alright as long as I am outside for a while until the initial perfume has gone from my body. I do not go into any store that sells perfumed items of any kind for that reason.

I can't go into candle shops because the scents are overwhelming and give me a headache. Yankee canles are the worst. Bath & Body works is offensive too

I have the same problem sometimes in a fabric store. Yes it could be the fabric or it could just be a lot of dust or poor air quality in the store. If it seems to bother you when you are quilting it might be a good idea to wash the fabric first to get the dust and chemicals out.

I am chemical sensitive..I can go into a quilting shop that has cottons..If I go into JoAnns, I have to leave with in 15 mins. because of all the fabrics that have formaldehyde...and the fumes make my eyes and face burn....I can't work with batiks because they use certain dyes on them.....
