Is it possible to resize this paper pieced block?

I have some focus fabric that I would like to use as the center of this block....but the center block would need to finish at least 8". Is it possible to resize this pattern to print it in the correct size for my fabric? Hope that makes sense!
This is a free pattern on Carol Doak's website. I don't want to make the project, just the star block. Thanks!

jill, you should be able to draft this bigger - if I understand you, the paper pieced pattern finishes at 4 inches and you want to make the 9 patch block with 8 inch finished blocks?
Draw an 8 1/2" square, mark your 1/4" seamline inside the outer edge and then mark the halfway point each side. Draw a line to connect the bottom to the side points - there are your 4 and 5 triangles.
Find the halfway point on the long side of those triangles and connect to the center top point.

Kathy,
the center square is 4" finished in the pattern....I want to use an 8" finished square. I think the original block finishes at 12". The points are paper pieced...my blocks will be larger, which is fine. I will try to figure this out on graph paper....I tried to print the pattern at 200% and it didn't work on my printer! :)

ahhh...I see what you are saying, Kathy, now that I have the printed pattern in front of me! THANK YOU! :)

since the finished block is 12", each section/square is 4". if you take the paper pieced square to a copier and increased it 100%, it wouldd end up at 8"... you just have to decrease the seam allowance to 1/4" after copying the 100%. Then the center block will also finish at 8" as you desire. HTH

ooops, guess i was typing when the last solution was posted.

Easily done. Choose the size you want the centre square to be and draw one the same size. Mark the middle point of each side and draw lines to match. Don't forget seam allowances when cutting out

Yes, I've done it. I found a 6" block of a daffodil - it had 20+ pieces. I printed it and we took it to an office supply place. I needed a 12.5" block and they were able to blow it up for me. I copied it on muslin. It worked just fine.
