Is this Possible?

Hello,
I have a grace Z44 Fabri-Fast-Hand quilting frame and was wondering if I could set it up to use as a long arm using my Juki machine? Has anyone done anything like this? Amazon has a Grace GracieII quilting carriage that Maybe could be used???
Thanks!
April

I don't think so. I don't think the frame would be stable enough to use as a longarm/shortarm frame. Longarm frames have to be very stable and not move at all. For instance, my Gammill frame is made of rollers thicker than your forearm, and the metal frame is all welded together.

this was my first quilting frame. It works for a dsm. I tried to convert it to use with a long arm and was unhappy with the result, but it was fine for my regular straight stitch Brother. Just realize you won’t have all the advantages of a long arm, but it is a decent start. I was thinking this might give you an idea of how you could rebuild what you have.

I have my Janome 1600P on a Grace II quilting frame. Works fine for quilting throws, twin quilts, table runners...basically anything smaller than a queen size quilt. Of course the depth of what you can quilts is reduced, but if you stipple or meander, or small loop d loops it's great.

I bought a dsm machine use frame from John Flynn (I think his website is his name). It may be more suited to you needs.

You have the machine, so I'd probably look for a used Grace quilting frame.

The Z-44 doesn't have a table for the machine carriage to ride on. You Could try looking for a used machine quilting frame on Craigslist. Then it would be someone selling locally, that you could go and see before you buy.

When I bought my Grace frame I had to specify the make and model of my machine so they could send what is compatible with my Juki
