Ihand quilted one like this that was 3/4 inch squares. I quilted ever other row through the middles of the blocks.

I have no ideas for quilting, but they are both beautiful quilts especially at the price you paid - indeed a great bargain.

My thoughts. If you are not going to hand quilt( I'm to old to contimplate that) You could do an ETE because it is so busy the pattern won't show up very much, just give tecture. Also you might stitch down each row( down the middle of each diamond) or maybe every other one. SID won't work very well on a hand quilted quilt unless the stitches are very close.

I have to say I agree with you QuiltE anything that I take the time to hand piece I also hand quilt. Machine piece-machine quilt. That's usually how I roll.

Those quilts are amazing! Sorry, but I am brain dead as to quilting them. Please show them to us again after them are quilted.

Both quilts are beautiful and I know the maker of each one spent alot of time on them. Glad that you made the decison to hand quilt (at least the king size one) the quilt. That's what both of them need. Anxious to see them again when they are finished even though it will take some time to do.

Recently there was a post that told how the parallel 'S' stitch was being done in so many quilts. I think it is also called a Bernina stitch 4 because it is the number of the stitch on the Bernina. Many of the old quilts have double lines, you might consider that, or going corner to corner. Like a big X on each square. That would definitely keep the squares down.

I lke the idea of a meander also, you can touch on each square and still not over quilt.

I would stitch down the middle of each square from point to point. Should come out looking like crosshatching if you did it both ways.
