Cedar City Ut
Craig Ave Wal-mart in Las Vegas

I used to have a running list of all the walmarts in Nv that carry fabric but once they started doing away w/ fabric it was to hard to keep up with.

Not knowing how often anyone here goes to Wal-Mart, but the one I go to in So. NV. has almost all of their quilting wall on clearance. They are not getting rid of the dept. just re-doing it and getting in a new line. Just wanted to let you all know incase your store is doing this you might be able to get some deals. If you don't have one close maybe give them a call and find out. This is the time of year that Wal-Mart brings in their new spring and summer line through out the whole store. Same thing happens in the Fall.

2 Cincinnati, OH stores still had fabric last week.
One on Colerain Ave. The other is Ferguson Road, but this store has begun its remodeling and the fabric dept. will be gone. I did not see anything on sale, but lots less on the shelves.

I seem to recall that someone in one of the Western states wrote that a new Super store opened with a fabric department. Is this still the case and have any more new stored opened that will be carrying fabrics?

I had decided not to buy any of the new fabrics they got in because the quality was so poor.

The Walmart in Gillette, Wyoming still has fabric, as does one in Colorado Springs, Colorado that I know off. In Gillette there isn't much but the one in Colorado Springs has quite a bit of fabric. I buy fabric for quilts at LQS and for things that probably won't get washed as much, I'll buy the fabric at Walmart.

ladygen 03-10-2010 01:33 PM

I never head out there, but I hear the one in Bremerton WA still has fabric.

When our fabric left, the patterns and most of the notions are gone too. I don't see why they couldn't have left zipper and stuff.

to May in Jersey - you hit the nail on the head! I thought the fabric was gauze with a heavy layer of ink (paint) on top. It is not nice at all. BEWARE of what WalMart is trying to sell!

coconuts 03-11-2010 05:02 AM

Richland Center, Wi.......but quality is very bad! Not much in sewing notions, patterns, etc.

damaquilts 03-11-2010 05:05 AM

None near me in GA. I have stopped going there so much. I found I can save as much or more by shopping the sales in Kroger's . I may run in for dog food but since their prices have gone up and Petsmart's prices have gone down and I am there anyway for adoptions, I have been getting it there. I do wish Walmart had kept their thread. If I run out and all I need is a spool I hate to run to Joann's 20 to 30 minutes away. I hate wasting gas.

nana myra 03-11-2010 05:12 AM

Stuart, FL, they have fabric, notions, threads, batting, patterns, and they told me they have no plans to close the dept. for right now.

no1jan 03-11-2010 05:25 AM

East Greenbush, NY still has fabric and notions.

Cobleskill, NY; Amsterdam, NY, & Rotterdam, NY have closed theirs.

mic-pa: Glad to here Vestal, NY still carries it as I drive near there on vacation. Will have to check it out. Let me know if there are any LQS's in the area.

Norene B 03-11-2010 05:28 AM

Rapid City, SD and I think Mitchell, SD still has some

weatheread 03-11-2010 05:31 AM

Garland and Greenville Texas Wal-Marts still have fabric

wingrider 03-11-2010 05:34 AM

Mt Dora, FL Walmart still has a fabric department.

ladybug4495 03-11-2010 05:34 AM

Brownsburg, Indiana This store also gets new fabrics in but dept is extremely small. Avon store was just remodeled recently and fabric dept was removed as was 86th St store in Indpls. Was told they would remove as new stores were built and existing stores were remodeled. Have removed to concentrate on "party items". Most fabric shoppers I have talked to and also employees think they are making a mistake. A lot of fabric buyers can not afford to shop quilt stores and my not have a JoAnn or Hobby Lobby near them.

EagarBeez 03-11-2010 05:41 AM

In Arizona, where I live,
White Mountain Blvd, Show Low, has a full fabric dept with a few rows of discounted fabric as well. Always getting in new fabric. They have some sewing machines as well.

foxxigrani 03-11-2010 06:23 AM

Fresno Ca, they have 4 of them here and three of them I know for sure has fabric. I buy in them all. lol
