I ordered a Pounce after hearing about it here a few months ago. Do you mark the entire quilt at one time or mark & quilt a section at a time? I'm using it for the first time on a quilt a little smaller than twin size. I'm hoping it helps me learn to meander quilt! Thanks :D

I found that Full Line Stencils makes the ideal stencil for pounce.
They have a mesh instead of open lines and it is so much easier and less messy than regular stencils.
Someone on the board suggested hair spray to hold the chalk so it dosnt wipe off, I havnt tried it yet but sure plan to on my next quilt.
So far I only free motion on my borders since it is an edge and easier to handle. Just learning free motion so this way it will be easier to get the hang of it.
I like the blue pounce the best, seems to show up better.

I love my pounce. I mark my quilts as I go. Just a section at a time. Of course that is a quarter of the quilt in some cases. I do not mark more than I will quilt in that session. I have never had much of a problem with it rubbing off, but I have never put it away with sections that are just marked and not sewn. Hope this helps

Damp cloth.

If you dampin the area with a washcloth before you pounce the lines look better.
Pounce is not a good word, you rub the chalk over the stencil.
Make sure the pad is saturated with chalk first, new pounce pads take a little attention to get them fully chalked.
Full Line Stencils work much better than the cut ones.

I don't remember what brand mine is but you iron it off, it's great.

My sis got a miracle chalk kit. It is great. They say you can do your entire quilt, it won't smear and stays put until you iron it off. I used it on a border of a nice size lap quilt and it worked great--just like they say. We have a machine on a frame, so it was rolled up twice.
