This might be a dumb question, but I'm working through my first PP tutorial. Can I print the pattern on paper with something else on the backside (reusing old printed stuff)?
TIA |
I prefer not to when I print out the patterns. It can get confusing. If it is just print it tends to mask the lines. You really need to be able to see the lines from the wrong side as well and the right side to stitch along.

i think it would be ok unless what was printed on the other side would keep you from seeing your pattern

I am all for recyling, but probably not in this case :D:D:D |
I do it all the time if there isn't too much on the backside to confuse you!

Well, I tried it. I did 1/2 the block and realized I didn't have enough material to do the other 1/2 because I cut it wrong. But...I did it!! Now my question, what do I do with the paper that is still attached? Do I tear it off?

First question. ;)
How much fabric do I need? I want to use the same fabric for the background in each block. The site says one user did this and used about 5 1/2 yd of fabric. How do I know how much fabric to use for the other colors? When you encouraged me to try this you probably didn't think I'd have a question so quickly, did you? lol |

Contact the person who did the tutorial and ask.

On the Quilter's Cache site, she says that a fat quarter will be plenty for 1 block, so I would say figure out how many blocks you need and what yardage it would come to, then add a little leeway in case of mistakes, and if you don't have any mistakes, then you have something to put in your stash. LOL
