Are Prairie Points too feminine for a mans quilt? I'm making my son a new quilt coverlet for his bed & I have some long strips that I cut by accident & they were be perfect for this. Any thoughts from the rest of the crew?

I think they would look great on a man's quilt or any other. They seem to add a little special touch to it.

Unless it's to be a surprise, I'd ask your son if he wants them. I don't think they're feminine if they go with the rest of the quilt. I was going to say, just realize that a man won't iron those points, but if it's your son, I guess you'll be ironing them anyway.

Thanks Purple. He is a very macho 16 year old & I don't want him to think mama made it sissy looking. We are doing a total room make over.

Prairie points are fine for a guy. If he asks, just tell him they are spikes. How much more manly can you get, than spikes?

I think it will add so much to this quilt. It is the Turning Twenty pattern. I have used orange, white & various University Of Texas prints. I did a lot of machine embroidery on it too. It is so unique. Can't wait to finish it.

I was going to say call them teeth but spikes is better MTP! :D

No rick-rack and no lace, and all he will see is pointy spiky, triangly shapes and all those terms sound manly.

After seeing my DGD quilt with prairie points my son has asked that his next quilt has them.
