prairie points

Hi-I am hoping to try prairie points. I have watched all the You Tube videos and admit I am more than a little befuddled. Do you bind the quilt in the regular manner and then add the prairie points?

the only way i have ever done it is to add them to the edge, placing them inward [like you would if you were adding lace] and then sew and birth the quilt. i have seen prairie points added within the quilt and, i imagine, they would be added similarly between two blocks or borders being sewn together.

Make the prairie points place them around the edge of the quilt (points facing inward). Sew binding on top of that. Flip your binding to the back to be sewn on. That will make the points face outward.

I did them one a quilt I made over 20 years ago. I never can get birthing done correct so I think I just tucked the edge of the backing and hand stitch it to the back of the prairie point seam.

I've done Prairie Points once... so far. Like michelleoc said, just place them around the edge of the quilt, stitch with points facing inward. Then add the binding by following the row of stitching for the Prairie Points, flip and hand stitch the binding. **The hardest part for me was the spacing. But not THAT hard.

I did prairie points on the bottom of kitchen towels for Christmas gifts last year. I just tucked them under the band of fabric. Everyone who got them loved them and they were so simple to make.

This is how I did the only one I've ever done. It was easy to do.
