I did one last year, Christmas theme in the round scallop edges. The muslin was heavy and a joy to quilt.

I have one in the works now, and the fabric is beautiful! I'd definitely order it again.

I hand quilted both a queen size white one and a hanging size one that I use as the topper for an antique trunk that serves as a coffee table in my living room. Both turned out great.

Back in the day when you couldn't get fabric like you can today, muslin was used for piecing and backing both..

Same here, I have a couple of good quality muslin. I have gotten good muslin at estate sales.

ok, I've been won over.

I had no idea there were muslins that were the same quality as quilter's cotton. Ironically, I was at the LQS the other day & picked out a beautiful mottled fabric only to then notice it was dyed muslin. It wasn't rough at all, like I had expected.

My days of picturing muslin as the functional but unattractive mess that I used to pick up from JAF to practice dressmaking are over. I am excited to give the Benertex stamped muslin a try & have decided that I will quilt it by hand. I found that Christian Lane will even baste it for me for a reasonable fee so I can just get started straight off with the hand quilting. Yea! How surprised will my brother & SIL be when they see it?!!!

I made one for my Mom about 15 years ago. When she passed I placed it on display on my quilt rack. To this day it's my favorite quilt. The fabric is very good quality.
