pre-quilted fabric
My friend just gave me yards and yards of pre-quilted fabric (it has the top, bottom and batting already quilted together).
What do you do with this?? |
First think I would do with it would be to baste the edges together so the quilting/stitching does not come undone.
Then - after you decide to cut it - stay stitch the edges of the pieces so the quilting stitching does not come out. (Ask me why I am suggesting that this should be done!) |
Make baby changing pads. Make appliance covers. Do a little applique and make some pillows.
|
Is the quality good enough to just bind it and donate lap robes to the cancer center?
|
Make tote bags or purses. Table Runners. Lap robes or baby quilts.
Eyeglass cases. |
Agree with QuiltnNan, make lap quilts and donate.

Is the fabric on both sides good quality? The quilting threads are very easy to clip and remove and you have 2 pieces of fabric to use.
I have used it for backing pieced table runners and placemats and just added more quilting to them on the pieced side. Do you have covers for your sewing machines? Do you have big bags for carrying quilts in? Do you need casserole carriers? Tons of things to do with it. |
If it is pretty good quality it will make great beach bags. I have used this pattern several times and my DILs love the bags I made for them. Here is the link for the free pattern: http://reannalilydesigns.com/2011/05...bag-pattern-2/

My sister makes tote bags with it.
|
Make nice aprons also.
