Good idea. That napper is a doll. Looks like he was having a good time posing for his picture.

Love your nap mat, I just finished my second one and cut out my third. I found some different patterns but ended up taking a little from each one. I didn't put ties on the end instead as most little ones can't tie yet. I made large loops to put around ends after it is rolled up and also a strap the widith of it with ends sewn in to put over shoulder to carry. Also made a pillow with velcro on ties so it can be removed. I did one layer of fleece for top and layer of flannel or cotton for the back and two layers of extra loft batting. I didn't quilt I just measured in 1/3 of width on each side and stitched the length to keep it together. Made one for Great Granddaughter to start school now making the other to sibblings one. Oh, made them cut size 24 x width of fabric 42-45 long. Pillow 9-10 inches by WOF

wow, I like yours and I have some of the same fabrics
what would we do without our precious children, it makes me so very happy to be able to make something for a child and it doesn't have to be my child. Just one that tugs at my heart when I see them or hear about them. |
I loved that fabric to when I saw it at JoAnn's but didn't want to pay that much for it. Then I was in our fabric out let and he had the fleece for 5.99 a yard so I just had to buy it no knowing what I would make and it was in my stach when I decided to make the nap mats so happy I found something to make it into. Know my G Granddaughter will love it as she loves any thing that is soft and will love the animals. As a friend said who saw it, makes me want to go back to school. LOL. I have a fleece with monkeys on it and monkey on the cotton backling cut out for G Grandson, to many projects ,to little time!!

Very cute!

That has always been one of my fav. fabrics. It turned out great and I esp. like the idea of the loops to secure. Liam will need one this Sept. Thaks for the pics and posting.

Such a good idea! Thanks for sharing. Hopefully mine turn out as cute as yours. :o)

I made a rag quilt for my 5yr old grandson and I put his school's name, year and his name on it; I know my daughter will be keeping it so it says it all.
