I am making preemie quilts for a hospital . I'm making them out
of fleece and I decided to just serge around the edges . Is this a no-no.

Our hospital won't use fleece.

My local hospital does not use fleece in the preemie nursery....central fla.Best that you check pab

Also I believe that before being used on Premies, whatever the blanket or quilt is, is sterilized some way or other. So it should be very, very washable to start with.

You're right. I called the local hospital and the said the same thing. They are in need of the items so I'll give them these. Anyway, I didn't wash the as i figured they needed something different. A good way to deplete the fabric supllie that to small. They only need to be 18" sq.
