Saw an ad in an old magazine for a "Universal Presser-Foot lifter".
Anybody ever had one? There are a few positive comments on Pfaff-talk but anybody else? Can't find them on Allbrands.com who apparently used to sell them. |
Check this one out:
http://www.crhowto.org/items_new/Uni...fter_3958.html I do a lot of applique and my Bernina has one operated with the knee. I couldn't get used to it at first but now I can not live without it. |
I have a Bernina with the knee-activated presser foot lifter. I use it ALL THE TIME. It's like having a third hand. I also use my left foot on the foot control, which frees up the right knee for the presser foot lifter.

What a clever item. I have never heard of one.
I place my foot control upside down on the floor and I find I have more control that way. When I bought my Pfaff, the young male salesman demonstrated it that way and said it worked better for him. It does for me, too. Kitsie, what is Pfaff-talk? |
I had never heard of one either!

My Janome has a knee lever that does this and it IS handy when doing applique' or working on those intricate pieces.

I had the older universal presser foot lifter on my Viking and loved it. It's not very pretty, and a pain if you take the machine to class, but it's great for home!! I bought one of those foot pedal 'keepers' to keep it and my machine pedal from moving. I put them right next to each other (sort of like the gas and brake pedals) and it worked beautifully. I have the Janome with the knee lift now. I actually liked the old presser foot lifter better!

Wonder whatever happened to them? The few reviews (like yours, dove) are positive. The Pfaff exp 4.0 has a knee one but I can't afford the extra above the 3.0 I'm getting.
Any entrepreneurs out there? |
