I have a question. I have been making rag quilts and have been using prewashed flannel on the back. How do you get rid of the pilling or small balls on the flannel. After it is washed for the ragged look there is balls all over the back. Thanks Joanne

I used a suede brush on a flannel quilt that I made. It works but the fabric will not look like new again. You could also use a sweater shaver to remove the pills.

I agree, the sweater shaver is the best method without hurting the fabric.

Is the prewashed flannel 100% cotton? Flannel with polyester in it will pill, no matter what you do. Ever try to sleep on flannel sheets that have polyester in them? Like sleeping on sandpaper!

I use a lint brush to remove any stray pieces of string
