I would not trust any batik not to bleed/run. You can hand rinse these and lay them on a rack or flat to dry. Use warm water to rinse, as there can still be a bit of the resist remaining. I throw my strips into a sink of warm water and let them sit for at least 10 minutes. Then rinse the excess dye.

I don't wash pre-cuts. I haven't bought any batik pre-cuts because they are notorious for color bleed. I do buy batik yardage and I DO pre-wash, starch and iron it before cutting it. I usually cut my own strips myself anyway so to me it's not a big deal.

I made one of the strip quilts with a Bali Pop and did not pre-wash any of the strips. I did put about 4 color catchers in the washing machine when I washed the finished quilt. They caught all the bleeding and came out a nice purple color.
