Go to ebay and see what what they're selling for.

And make sure you look at sold listings to see what was actually paid. Looks like they are not going for much.

I just went there. There are none listed. The good thing about eBay is that if it is worth more, people will bid it up. If you price it too low someone like me will snap it up.

This is a mechanical, non-computerized machine. I heard through the grapevine that they started making them with plastic parts toward the end. But the original ones were made with metal gears. There was also a flood in Switzerland and that ruined a lot of stuff. So it is buyer beware.

Try to list it with date of manufacture.

I would like to bid on it once you get it on there.

You could look at models with similar features and see what they sold for.

If you list it on something like Craigslist, you could start high and you might insider counteroffers if you get them.

Is there a comparison chart anywhere that shows the differences between the various models?

Is there a sewing machine repair facility near you? I would ask them...

I recently paid $500.00 for a 1030. It had a lot of feet including a walking foot with it. Wonderful machine.

Dear Bernina aficionados, do you know if Bernina made a walking foot for the 830 Record, or did the walking foot come later? I can't seem to find the answer, and afraid to get the one-offs by another manufacturer...signed, Stumped

I have the 930 record, which I think came right after and I was able to get a walking foot for mine???? I would sure think so....

Yes, I have a walking foot for my 830 record. Seems to be about the same as the one I have for my 1230. The one for the 830 is harder to put on than the one for the 1230. They must have made an improvement.
