Heard on the new that the price of cotton is going up very high...
What are we going to do......

I know I went to get some civil war material and it was $2.00 higher!

I guess I need to stock up now before it goes any higher.

I've been doing way too good a job of that ;-) Fortunately, there are some very good on-line sales at present.

There is no way for cotton to go but up. Sad but true. Cotton takes land. Land is at a premium.

I personally will be really thinking about any purchase I get especalliy from my LQS. I'm asking for gift certifacates for my birthday and Christmas. AND the one commitment I made it to use as much as I can from my stach.

I think some of the immediate problem is weather conditions here and there around the globe.
Some foodstuffs are up in price too.

We have always paid between $13.00 to $21.99 a metre and as high as $27.99 a metre for batiks. Yes, the price hikes are going to hurt, but, we will have to be more selective of what we buy. When groceries go up in price, do we stop eating...no, we become more selective. When gasoline goes up, do we stop driving... no we just make each trip count more. Quilting is our passion, and yes, the price increases will hurt... but, we are a very resourceful breed and we will always find a way to quilt.
