Prices of batting (groan)

After spending the winter in AZ I was able to go to our local fabric store. I had read about the cost of Warm & Natural batting increasing in price. I wanted to check our prices against US prices. W & N is $38.00 a meter (39 inches) & the pre-packaged queen size was 98.00. Needless to say I didn't buy any, hope it goes on sale.

wow- why not find an on-line shop that sells international- i bet even with shopping it's going to be lots less expensive- since we pay about $27 for a queen batt!

Yikes! It's on sale at Joann's right now (doesn't help Canadians I know) for 19.99 for a queen size package. Plus they have an extra 15% off coupon so I picked one up today for $17. Regular price is $45 I think.

Ah'm so proud of paying 19.99 at Joann's. Its gone up to $27 and $33 everywhere else. Gonna grow my own at this rate. Now where did I put those carders?

I doubt I would be able to quilt much at those prices.. and doubt I would ever really put my quilts to the use they get now. Such a huge investment !

All of my quilts have high loft polyester batting, washes wonderfully, warm without the weight. Works great for me.

are you close enough to come over the line and get some???? I would by a whole roll at Joann's and take it home if you could. Might be worth checking into. I have friends that live in Ontario and take stuff home with them every summer. good luck.

Batting is pretty hard to smuggle across the border. :)I think your best bet is to order some from a company on line that offers a good deal on shipping.
