Princess Quilt Pattern Needed

Aside from using a panel, does anyone know of a quilt pattern, that looks like something a princess might use? It's for a 3 year old, who's obsessed with princesses . . . but I'm hoping to find something she won't outgrow, in a few years. Will make the quilt in twin size. Help!?! :p

If you paper piece, there are many patterns available in the 'princess realm'! Here's a castle:

And a quilt:

CUTE castle!!! I've yet to try PPing but I did get some paper and a ruler, to learn. That's a definite possibility. :)

The appliqued one has great possibilities, too! Love the crown! :)

Thanks!

There is always the line of fabric from Frozen regarding the two princess in the movie. Haven't seen the movie yet.

I made my great granddaughter a princess quilt using the warm wishes pattern. I had to fussy cut the princess squares and used colors that blended for the strips. I made a twin size. She was going on 4 yrs old when I gave it to her. She loves it and sleeps with every night. I used a princess flannel for the backing.

This is what I came up with last year for my 3yr old grand daughter....I personalized the castles-one has her monogram embroidered on it, one has her cat in the window, etc.

Thanks for the ideas, everyone! Jillmc, I LOVE your beautiful quilt!!!

One of my granddaughters is almost 20 and still loves her princess quilt. Another who is 15 wants a hunting quilt. Everyone of them is different. Why not put a more mature pattern or material on the back and the princess look on the front? That way she will get maximum usage from it. Wouldn't it be wonderful, if when she outgrows the princess stage, that she would want to save it for her daughter?

I made a quilt for my granddaughter and used coloring sheets as patterns. The crowns were made of metallic gold fabrics. At the bottom of the quilt are metallic silver slippers. It was so much fun to make. http://www.quiltingboard.com/attachm...-her-quilt.jpg

I saw one on Pinterest that was a princess dress appliqued on it so when the little girl was under the quilt, it looked like she was wearing the dress. There are tons of ideas on there.

These look wonderful. I hadn't thought about patterns that didn't involve a panel.
I am making two princess quilts, one with the David Textiles princess quilt panel and the other with the Disney panel with all the princesses on it. I can hardly wait to get them finished.

Neesie 10-10-2014 10:29 AM

All of the ideas have been so wonderful! Have to admit I was originally not looking forward to doing this . . . but it's for my great-niece, who's heavily into Princess everything. She's such a darling, I just can't resist! With all these ideas, it's gonna be hard to choose . . . but I know I'm gonna LOVE making the quilt!

Y'all are the BEST! THANK YOU!!!
