Go to the newsagency or book shop and get a colouring - in book that is designed for children. They usually have simple drawings of princesses and fairies that you could adapt.

I have made 4 princess block quilts all with applique blocks for my 4 granddaughters. I started with designs found on ebay at Molly_Mine. Her princess book designs worked perfectly in either a 4x4 or 5x7 hoop; pumpkin carriage, castle, frog prince, etc. I use these designs constantly on fleece, bibs, burp cloths just to hear the oooohs and aaaahs at baby showers!! Contact me for pictures of the finish quilt.

If no one else is interested in the Princess pattern I would like to purchase it.

There are tons of Disney coloring books. I would look for one for very young girls. It would have many pictures to choose from. Good luck.

My favorite set is by 'Molly Mine' and I found her on ebay. They stitch beautifully and not too many pieces. I have made 4 of the 'princess' quilts exactly as you described for my 4 grand daughters...(only 4 of the 12 grandchildren are girls). They especially like the square of the heart with their name as the princess. I use these designs on everything for baby showers too.
