I use Printed Treasures all the time and have a Dell ink jet printer. I make sure the quality print is the best and then I heat set the label after printing. I've had no problems. I don't usually use the iron on one. It is a little stiffer than I like.

This sounds like a great printer. Have you put your projects through the washer? Mom will need to be able to wash her quilt and I have had some wash by hand beautifully and when I washed them in the machine they faded out.
If yours washes well I may have to get a kodak printer. Which printer did you get? Lynda

I used printer sheets from JoAnns. The instructions said
'Not Washable'. Luckily I was making a wallhanging for my mother-in-law of the great grand children and wouldn't need to be washed. I don't think these printable sheets would work for a quilt, they need to be washable. I made my wallhanging about 10 years ago. Maybe the newer sheets are more permanant. (?) |
I have done photo printing for years. Starting first with a piece of muslin untreated wait till dry and hot iron. No fading.
I now use the Jenkins pretreated fabric that was mentioned in another reply. Less expensive per sheet than all the other products. Also have used their Bubble Jet for HP printers if I use other fabrics. Never a problem. Make sure you use Best printing option and plain paper selection. Jenkins has an excellent tutorial on the subject and explains the difference between Epson printing inks and HP printing inks. Also Carol Bryer Fallert has an excellent tutorial. Google her web site. You cannot use a laser printer for photo fabrics. Also you may have to check the color quality of your photo using the programs in your computer which will check the proper color saturation of your print. Good Luck Severna |

I use the printable fabric sheets from Australian Country Quilts. They are 100% cotton and they work great. Just follow the instructions and it works on any printer. The e-mail address is www.accraft.com.au You can buy either 10 or 20 A4 sheets for $23 Australian for the 10 pack. You can buy many different things from them once you go into their website.

I use the EQ Printables and they work fantastically well! The cotton lawn is good but slightly light-weight. I prefer the cotton sateen sheets. They are expensive but well-worth the money if you want a durable, washable quilt.
One word of warning - the sheets are letter size, not A4, so you need to adjust your page before printing - otherwise important parts of the photos can get chopped off! |
I took my pictures to kinko's and had them put on transfer paper and then I ironed them on my fabric. worked great.
