I have read many times to print out stencils on to paper then trace to plastic. Why would you want to do twice the work?? I have found that if you print right to the stencil plastic that ink wont dry....spray it with hair spray, it will set the ink and you can cut it out with all the info on it.

Hope this works and helps

Great Tip!
Heavy weight vellum works also, and the ink dries to it without having to use anything on it! I think it is cheaper than the template plastic also.

I guess it depends on how big the stencil is.

I burn them (but I also use the stencils for airbrushing) with a fine-tipped burning tool or cut them with an exacto knife on a glass surface with the reference drawing under the glass.

What a great idea.

I tape the plastic to the computer screen and trace it right there. I can make it what size I want also.

I never thought of putting the template plastic through my printer. I've always just traced the design on and then use my burning tool to create it. Very interesting!!
