I just finished my very first free motion quilting. The quilt just came out of the dryer and I noticed as I was cleaning up loose threads that a few of my flowers came unstitched....UGGGG It was the first time to quilt with my BSR foot and I think it skipped a few stitches. WHAT DO I DO?? Can I just requilt those 7-8 flowers? Can I just quilt over what has already been quilted like tracing the lines? I don't know what to do...Other than that I LOVE the quilt, especially considering it was made from leftovers...Please help with some suggestions...
Thanks

Sure, you can quilt over the lines that need to be redone.

I would restitch and back stitch several times to lock in your stitching. I hope this helps. Just don't panic, it will be beautiful and remember, before you put it in the washer & dryer God knew it was gonna do that. It'll be ok. Let us know how that works out. okie dokie?!

Just put a few tiny stitches at the starting point of where it came unstitched...quilt forward, then lock the stitches again...then cut off where the thread is loose. I have to do this when I am just quilting along...and BOO...something makes me jump and mess up the quilting. I just make a U turn in the quilting...lock the stitches, then trim away the mess up.

That is why I always wash my quilts before giving them away. That way I can fix problems. I have had the same problem and just requilted the area and it worked just fine.

I just finished re-quilting the problem areas. I decided to just trace over the whole flower just in case. I guess I forgot to secure the stitches on those few when I first started...Still I have decided even with the problems that it didn't turn out too bad for my first time! Thanks for all the help.

Will post a few pics in a little while....
