Problems with organizing stash...

Been working on fab shelves not in sewing room. Started early this A.M. and about 2/3 done. OMG...the lost fab I've found. With this organization I'm doing, I have no business going within a 12 mile radius of a fab store. Only allowed to buy thread or needles. :(. Break over. Need to have the fab stuff done today so I can reclaim space in the sewing room.

Last month, we had a basement flood, and my sewing room is now packed in boxes in the guest room except for some essentials where l'm camped in the diningroom while redoing walls, baseboards etc. My stash was safely stowed in upper cabinets, and machines on countertops, thankfully. However, l had to rescue a LARGE collection of scraps! When l put things back, there will be a purging and reorganizing of those for sure!

Oh my yes! I completely understand! After 5 years of suggesting, insisting, begging and down right demanding!! My pin devouring sewing room rug is going out the door! But that has meant condensing my sewing room into 1/3 of the space and the things that I have found!!

I always thought I was pretty good at knowing what I have and what I need. Seems I don't need a thing and have way too much!!

Worked almost all day on the shelves and I quit! Have a couple shelves left but they can wait until tomorrow. So far have 2 large totes to bring to a quilt guild next month.By the time I'm done, maybe 4. Now THAT'S a gpod feeling.

DH brought home ice cream. That's the real reason I'm done for the night...;)

Ice cream makes everything better

I never had that much of a stash, and when I did it about 15 years ago, it took me 2 weeks to ruler fold my fabric. It was a real gift though, and I've maintained it, and I can always see every fabric I have. Keep up the good work!!

Been almost a week now and fab still looks REALLY, REALLY nice.

I needed bue for binding and was able to find the perfect fab.

Able to look for color combos for next project.

Found several half yard cuts and have no idea where they came from. Could ilt be layer cakes that did the dirty dance? Anyway what I found was perfect for backing strips.

Have a couple bags of "duds" to donate. Did a little work in sewing room but decided to wait to fiish that P(*^%$ job...lol

Just wish getting rid of belly fat would be as east as getting rid of fab. :hunf:
