Purple stain from Pellon Fusible Fleece...please help.
OK I have this Pellon fusible fleece that I've had for a few years. The problem
is that I stored the fleece with the plastic instruction sheet it comes with. Big mistake. The purple dye from the instruction sheet bled into the fleece. Now I have those ugly purple stains all over. Can I wash the fleece? Soak it in soapy water? Oxy Clean? What should I do? I'm pretty sure once I apply the fabric to the fleece it will set the stain permanently. BTW, I think I need to make a special trip across the border for fleece and batting. The prices are just too crazy here. |
Sorry about your situation - don't have a clue how to help you. Guess I will check my supplies to make sure I don't have the same issue.

I would spray it with a spot remover detergent and soak and press down with hands on flat surface to see if it will come out. You might even try to spray with a bleach and soak and press down and rinse.

Fusible interfacing, including fleece, is tougher than batting. I'd spray with my choice of stain sprays and pop it in a lingerie bag and wash in the washer on gentle. Probably will have to lay it flat to dry so you don't heat the glue in the dryer. If it weren't fusible, you could put it in the dryer for a while.

Thanks for all your suggestions.
