purse handles
I found a lot of patterns, where you sew the handles and use an interfacing- I find these kind of go floppy or where you cover cord or clothesline, which I sometimes find these cut in to my hand or shoulder, yeah I put way too much stuff in mine.I discovered if I use the clear tubing for the air pump in my fish tank covered with my fabric with a very light stabiliser much more comfortable. Also gives the handles a more defined shape.

Never thought of fish tubing. I've had the same problem with handles. I, too, carry too much stuff in my purse. I've tried to leave some stuff at home and then need it.

If they are round, do they stay on your shoulder? I had a purse with quilted handle and one was always falling off. I try to stick with one strap now.

I like this idea, I'll have to try it. I think it would be good at the edges of the strap too as a "ridge"

Electric cabling using the thick wire works well. I have used the petersham used by dressmakers in skirts or the tape used on other bags.

Clever! I will have to try and remember this tip. I love to make purses and just got that book Big City Bags.
