about 25, but I give them away when there is a birth, birthday or wedding. I have about 5 to keep for me.

OK. I feel better. :)

Wow ...quilters sure are generous....we give away more than we keep for sure....I am surprised by those that have none......

None, I am working on a few that I plan on keeping, all others have been been given as gifts

I am glad to see this! I hate to be the only one who has a large number. I counted 59 and then stopped. I only have one in the works, and it is one for charity, so it won't stay around too long. In fact, my next 5 are for charity.

Seven that I can think of.

Six that are finished, plus a bunch of quilt tops that my daughter will quilt for me as she gets to it. I have made and given away dozens of quilts, mostly baby sizes. Made them for all my grandkids, great grandkids and my great great grandson, as well as all nieces and nephews, plus quilts for the local NICU, and other charity groups.

None....I am finishing up one now for grandson number 7. All the others have quilts as do their parents. I promised my husband a quilt just for him and that is my next project. There always seems to be someone or something that is going to get the project I am working on.

Last Christmas I did give all my nieces and nephews (6) quilts. so sad my poor DH is thinking that when I die there is going to be a big fight over who gets what.

I know exactly where you are coming from - I bond with my quilts. I like to write a story with mine that I give away. Sort of makes me feel good to let someone else know how much it meant to me to make that quilt for them. Which I am in the process of right now and I can't get my printer to work and this book is going to be around 25 pages long. But, we just keep a-plugging along. I don't make a quilt ahead of time ever. If I make it for someone, it takes a while to get everything in order and cut and all that - get my notebook out to write everything down by hand, like the weather, the headlines, etc., it is my provenance for a quilt that I make. Otherwise I'll make the quilt for myself. I just don't make for the sake of making, I have to know where it is going - Funny thing, I never run out of places where the quilt is going. Fun, isn't it?
