How does one square up a quarter square triangle block? I know it's different than a 1/2 square triangle block. Help!!!!

I just take my 2 foot plastic ruler and slice up the sides as best I can. I try to make sure it is flat. Be sure to press it well before you try.

What size is your block? Do you have a ruler that size?
When I am squaring up a quarter square triangle block that will be 4" finished, I use my 4 1/2" square ruler, lay it on top, line up the diagonal lines going in both directions and then trim. That makes it completely square with the diagonal lines still running to both corners. |
My blocks are 3-1/2" finished and my square up ruler only has 1 45 deg. line going thru it. It is a Creative Grids ruler.

I have Quilt in a Days triangle square up ruler, it is a must have.
I can make any size half square or quarter sq and they come out perfect every time. It also has the short cut method for half sq triangles. |
You can always take a permanent marker and Mark another 45 degree line going across the other way....alcohol should remove it when you are don

Thanks! The first website helped me a lot! I'm new to quilting and trying to pick up smarter methods to cut.
