I am making a strip quilt for my DD. The blocks are 91/2" and I am going to have them on point. What size do I cut the squares for the quarter square triangles that go on the sides. This is something that I am really challenged about. Thanks in advance.

Not enough info. :-D
Is the block entirely strip pieced? Is it the corners of the block you're asking about? |
this might help you...http://www.atimetosewquilts.com/measurements.htm

You might try the book: All-in-one Quilters Reference tool. This is a great book and has a lot of info!!

Thank You so much!!! I just have one more question. When they talk about the finished size of the block what do they mean? The blocks are 91/2 inches now, but when they are all sewed together they will be 9 inches. Which one do I use? I know this sounds really dumb, but I am confused. This is the first time I have done something on point and I want to get it down pat. Thanks again!

finished size is what size it is in the quilt
the 9 inch measurement unfinished includes seam allowance clear as mud? :D |
Thank You, Thank You, Thank You O Wise Ones!!! Now I understand. Even though I have been quilting for a while, I still have much to learn.
