How big should I make the Queen and King size quilt, before before the batting and backing is put on?

Thanks,Bettye

That all depends on your preference! I have a queen bed but like a bigger/longer blanket so I usually try to make smaller than a king but larger than a queen. This is the beauty of making things yourself ~ there are no rules (and if there are you are allowed to break them)! :D

We don't abide by rules specific ...but the standard queen usually runs 84 x 92" and the King...100 x 92". Hope this helps.

I ike to make my quilts where they hang about 1 foot on the sides and bottom (longer if tucked in) of the bed when it is made, or one block on all sides except top, if I can plan it out that way.
