Question About Batting

I was given some batting (it's not Warm & Natural) and it is white, soft on one side and rough on the other--what is it used for? I already used it to make a tote bag but I wonder if I should use anymore.

rough on one side??? ...are you sure it isn't the kind with glue on that side? or by rough do you mean kinda bumpy?

Some battings if they have a needle punched schrim (sp?) one side is rougher as that is the direction the needle punched through.

It is bumpy on one side, I wet an area and it doesn't appear to be glue.

Is it a fusible?

It could be a fusible -- cut a small piece, put it bumpy side down on a scrap of fabric and iron. If it sticks it is fusible. The fusible battings I have used are to be fused to the backing, and when I am done quilting then wash the quilt to get rid of the fusing.
