Question about fabric for new quilt from EQ7
After 2 years of not having a sewing room(house renovation, as well a new sewing room) I am finally going to starta new quilt.
So, after having EQ6 and EQ7 for years andyears I just now actually looked at the manual, as well as the EQ6 BlockBook. I am amazed at all the wonderful blocks in he book. I am"thinking" that it might be fun to just do one ofEach of many of theblocks to make a quilt. They are all sointeresting and great looking. Ithought that I would insert each block into a “new” quilt so I can see them alltogether, as well as the fabric to buy. Myquestion is, what would be best: justuse 2 or 3 colors (and a background), or use several in the same colorfamily??? Sinceall of these blocks are so different I don’t know if a lot of colors would betoo conflicting. Thanksfor any help, suggestions, or photos of examples. karensue |
Either would work but my choice would be 2-3 colors plus background.

You might want to experiment in EQ7--just copy the block designs set in the quilt without color and then try some different color combos.

I agree with quiltingshorttimer. Add the blcoks into a sketchbook and try various colors. I find that a successful quilt usually has at least a light, medium and dark value.
