I just purchased a quilting frame at an auction that I was sure was a grace, however when I went online the grace frames have metal rails but this one has all wooden rails, everything else looks the same. Would this be an older model grace frame and could you share how to attach the quilt? This frame has fabric strips attached to the wood rails with tacks. Thanks for any help you can offer. I also have a Jasmine 3 rail frame that I love. I was hoping that this one would be better for my mother in law who has limited space.

I had an all-wooden grace frame some years ago, and yes it had the fabric attached to the rails so you could pin the quilt to the fabric instead of tacking it to the wood itself.

It's been a while though so I don't remember any particulars other than that!

I have a fairly new wooden Grace Frame. My husband bought 1 1/4 x 10' Metal Conduit at hardware store for the rails, so yours probably was set up with wooden instead of metal. Nice frames

Yes, on these frames one attaches the quilt to the fabric on the rails with pins or basting stitches, then rolls the rails to make the quilt taut enough to quilt.

Enjoy!

My metAl frame uses velcro to hold the leaders - sewn onto leaders, double stick onto the rollers. You could do this with the wooden frame, or replace the poles with metal as suggested.

here's a link to all the instructions on Grace Frame (new and old) just look for your model and download the pdf file.

i have the grace pinnacle,,, and i use a "sleeve" to pin my fabric to and then "crank away"... once it's all pinned, the fun begins!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the link, I am not positive what model it is, I didn't see any label on the frmes but I will study the pictures t try to figure it out. I sure am glad that it was already together since there was no paperwork with it :0)

Yes be very grateful about that!! I remember putting mine together. I'm pretty handy with that kind of thing but the instructions were VERY scanty and rather confusing! I managed to get it all together but it certainly was a pain, lol.

I/m pretty sure that if you go to the Grace website, that you can download any info about your frame or one quite similar... i'm always afraid i'll lose paperwork or instructions for things, but in this day and age whatever you need is always right there at their site.... have fun.. Barbara
