I have purchased my first Jelly Roll and have used 20 of the strips for a diaper bag. I was wondering if I could use the remaining for a scrappy single Irish chain. I need a simple quilt for a baby gift and thought this would be easy but was just concerned about the size of the strips. Is 2 1/2 inches too narrow? Or does any one have an idea of another pattern I could do with remaining strips?
Thanks....Laura |
Use them! You are the designer. You can do whatever you want. You will just need to make your big blocks to match the size.

Thanks...I just didn't want to cut the strips of the solid if the strips were too small....I had this vision of a really small 9 patch that would work for a doll.....Sometimes I have a hard time visualizing...
Mary....love the quilt in your avatar..... Before living in Philly we used to live in Allen...Sometimes I really miss Texas!! |

You could do Scrappy Irish Chain, or even a Scrappy Trip Around the World.

The scrappy Irish Chain was what I was thinking.....I have always wanted to try one, so this may be a good try to tackle a bigger one later...
Thanks... |
