I have never used a Jelly Rolls and I want to. How big of a quilt does a Jelly Roll make? Will 1 Jelly Roll make a Twin size quilt or will it make a bigger quilt?
Thanks for any help. |
Jelly Rolls vary in the quantity of strips included. Many are 40 strips. If you were to sew them side by side, you'd end up with a piece approximately 80x42.
There are many jelly roll patterns/books out there. Some call for a jelly roll and some yardage to make a large lap size or maybe even a twin. |
Thanks. I want to make a Twin size quilt so I guess 1 Jelly Roll will do it and then add borders.

Do a search for jelly rolls here and you will see many different patterns.

It would probably do depending on the pattern. If I were you I'd look for
the pattern first. Some jelly rolls use a lot of background fabric so you can get away with just one. Also depends if you are adding a border or not. |
Borders are a lot of time to put on but, they are a good way to make a quilt bigger. I like all quilts better with borders.

These pattern would only take a little extra at the top and the bottom to make a twin sized.
