question about John Flynn's Storm at Sea constructions

Has anyone made one of John Flynn's Storm at Sea laser-cut kits? I cannot figure out how to do this next step. I've unpicked the seam as instructed, but I don't get the part about twisting the seams.

it just means that any stitches in that seam showing in the first pic need to be picked out, down to the main seam stitches. then "twist" the fabric seams to lay flat. like Eleanor Burns does when she makes the seams look like a small "pinwheel" on the back center. it flattens out the seam meeting point well.

Check out around 3:53, Elanore Burns shows this technique to get flat blocks.

Okay NOW I get it. The first link is broken, but I was able to watch the YouTube video. Thank you so much for your help!

I have just finished John Flynn's Storm at Sea. It has turned out beautifully and I am very, very pleased! Taking the time to create those little flat 'pinwheels' where the seams meet is well worth the few seconds it takes. I think I'll try to do it on all my quilts from now on. The resulting flat-seamed top is wonderful.

Update - I had emailed the Flynn company about my question before posting it here. Kate (she's John's daughter, right?) emailed me back and said that they would make a video over the weekend about it for me.

I can't wait to finish this top and post it! Maggie, how big was the one you purchased?
