If Quilts of Valor is allowed to send quilts to soldiers, are they allowed to take their own with them? My grandson is headed for B'rhan in a few weeks. Can I send a quilt made to QOV specs with him? I am going to have to lose some sleep to get this done. Will he be able to take it now? He's in the Navy.

my navy retirement hubby sez..... he should be allowed to take X number of pounds of stuff with him, this # could also include his equip. U should be able to ship directly to him once he has established a base camp there. But I am not involved with QOV just our prespective as Retired Navy.

I shipped a quilt to my daughter when she was both in Afghanistan and Iraq. She's Army and was over for a year each. I don't see why they can't have their own quilt! You can ship it to him when he gets there so that it doesn't count against his weight allotment

I'll hand deliver the quilt and his parents can ship if he doesn't have room for it. Thank you for the input. I didn't want to ask the family in case I didn't finish. I just wanted to make sure he could have it before I rush to make a quilt.
