Question about pattern
 

I just bought the Take 5 pattern. For those of you that have made it before do you think it looks better if made with coordinating fabrics like all floral, all Valentine all Christmas fabrics for example or better using contrasting .. different colors. Thanks

My ruler for picking out fabric is to try to have a light, a medium and a dark.

It needs a lot of contrast in any theme you choose.

5 totally different fabrics-- both color and design,will make a very attractive quilt.

Well, I wouldn't mix Valentine's fabric with Christmas fabric. If you want a quilt for a holiday, stick to just one holiday. But I do think a mix of fabrics would look great.

I haven't made that particular pattern, but in general, I mix up print size, as well as coordinating the colors. Fabrics don't have to match perfectly, just blend well, to look great.
