My friend and i went fabric shopping today. It was so much fun. I bought a bundle of 13 fat quarters of Christmas flannel. I thought about doing a pinwheel. Can i just mix and match the pieces or should i buy a solid. The flannels have a distinctive background of red, green, or cream. Thanks for your input.

Christmas fabrics are so much fun. You might want to have a solid to make the other stand out more.

Get solid...should help other fabrics be a focal in each block

Yes a solid would make themstand out.

Definitely add a solid -- design will get lost otherwise.
And be careful to spin all the pinwheels the same direction!

Thanks.

Ditto the answers the other quilters gave you.
