I am designing a quilt where I am using a 11'' block and the sashing will consist of 3 1'' strips sewed together. Would the sashing be considered part of the block, or is it separate?

I think I would still consider it sashing as it framing your blocks.

I wouldn't consider the sashing as part of the block.
