Question About Technique....

I saw this from Bryerpatch Studios and I'm confused as to how the artist did it.

It says she designed it on Corel Draw and then had it printed at Spoonflower. Does that mean it isn't pieced, but is more of a panel? Or that she had the pieces printed at Spoonflower and then pieced them together? I've studied it but can't figure it out.
I know this artist does really intricate work, but here she says she is trying to "simplify". I'm confused.
Any ideas?

Yes, it is just a panel of fabric she designed and had printed. It is not pieced.

It appears to be a panel digitally printed from her Corel Draw design and then quilted. Unique, interesting piece.

Very imaginative and very lovely. I wish we could see the whole thing!

yeah, I agree, it probably is like a printed panel.

The designer does state that it was - digital design, digital painting, digital printing, machine quilting, but it would be a fun challenge to make this as a pieced quilt.

Caryl Bryer Fallert-Gentry is the designer. She also does similar designs that are pieced using a method that involves a combination of applique and piecing where one edge of the fabric is pieced to another fabric and the other edge is appliqued- hard to explain. Anyway, this piece is a printed panel which she designed, had printed and has then quilted. Her usual process involves quite a bit of work between making the original design, blowing it up and making pattern pieces that are then used to cut the fabric and then the putting together using her applique-piecing technique. She has won many awards over the years for those quilts. If you get a chance, spend some time going through her website it’s very inspiring.

She has an artistic talent, but knowing how this was done, it is not worth $3500.

She's an amazing designer and has been for a long time. I also agree that it's a panel.

I thought it sounded like a panel but people on FB were congratulating her on her piecing so I wasn't sure.

Regardless, it's lovely.
