I am really in the dark when it comes to buying thread on cones. I have gotten a system set up so I can use cones with my machines, [coffee mug, etc] and my question is--when I buy spools of thread, they are usually the dual purpose, cotton/poly blend. It is just what I have always used. But, I can't seem to find that blend in cones. Am I not looking in the right places?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. And thanks for any help that you can give me. |
Is this what you want?
http://www.redrockthreads.com/signat...polycotton.asp http://www.homesew.com/th36.html I love using Aurifil (cotton), and my machine loves it too. I buy mine here: http://www.sewezdesigns.com/Aurifil1.html |

Here is another one to try. They have all types including the cones of Dual Duty. Decent prices too. |
i buy all my thread, cones and spools now from Connecting Threads- and love them- they have many (types) blends, fiber contents of threads---
i don't know for sure but it seems like only Coats & Clark called their sewing thread- Dual Purpose---that may be why you are not seeing it else where....just the terms- the thread used for many applications is still out there- all the thread companies carry them- they just don't call it that. |
I have all brands of cone thread. For piecing I like Connecting Threads poly cones. I have lots of Aurifil, Superior, and YLI cone treads too. All are nice and sew great.
