Hello everyone! I ask this because I recently received my Go and I am working on my first project using the value die project idea called the Go for it quilt. I found the triangles to be challenging Then I read about using paper. But I also have found using a poor grade of fabric does not help either! I read somewhere that when fabric has stretched someone used a fabric glue stick to help align pieces. Could someone also explain that to me?
I just hope i have not wasted my hard earned money...it feels like I should just have stuck with rotary cutter. But of course after a large purchase & a learning curve many of us question things! I am a newbie quilter who really enjoys making charity quilts. Thanks! Carol in the litte state of Delaware |
Do google for a accuquilt group/forum as I am sure they will be able to give you great information and help.

I starch my fabric before cutting with the Go. It helps with the smaller size cuts. You can align fabric to be cut on grain. I cut a lot of scraps and put the fabric anyway it will fit and never have a stretching problem that caused any distortion. If you are having static cling with the mat, spray with Static Guard or wipe the mat with a dryer sheet. The more I used the Go the better cutting job I got. Now I can throw some fabric on the die and roll it through and never think about it. There are lots of youtube videos that show the tricks and tips.
