Those of you that have a Bernina 730, I was just sewing along and my bobbin ran out of thread. No warning, just ran out. I thought I understood that it was supposed to stop and give a warning on the screen. Now maybe I missed the beep and warning, but if I press the control foot down, will it then continue to sew? Not a big deal, but it was one feature that I was really excited about.

Is your machine new? Or maybe this is the 1st time you've let the bobbin run out all the way?? If it didn't beep, it's possible that this feature was "turned off." I turned off the darn thing on my 200...

You should have a manual with your machine. Go to the back of it and look under bobbin. It would be in the manual.

Have you had a chance to try out the embroidery module yet? My machines bobbin sensor is extra sensitive(alerting when it is no where near empty) in the embroidery mode so I turn it off in that mode.
I'd really be interested in hearing what the dealer has to say about it. Please let us know. I hope they are able to help with a simple fix or are able to make it right. |

Are you using the correct bobbin? I have a Husq.Sapphire 870 which uses green bobbins so that the sensor works, if I put in a blue bobbin from my Husq. Lily the Sapphire can't tell when the thread is low on that type of bobbin. I know it's not your machine type but just a thought?

Thanks for the input. Yes, the embroidery worked fine, but had a full bobbin and didn't use it up.
I have cleaned the area thoroughly. I am using the bobbins that came with the machine, so hopefully they are the right ones. Spoke to the dealer and it seems to them that I am doing everything right and that the sensor is turned on. So, when I go for embroidery class at the beginning of next month, they will check it out. |
I have the 640 and I have no sound for the bobbin, it just stops! Then I change it.

Awwww, poor Sadie -- sounds like she might need an adjustment or two. I'm sure they'll be gentle....

That's wonderful that Sadie is better! I love my 730 (had her for 6 months). If you buy more bobbins make sure they are for the 730 - other Bernina bobbins are slightly thicker in width and won't fit! Make sure you regularly clean out the bobbin area and pop off the plate over the feeddogs - I'm amazed at how much junk gets in there.
