I just bought a Singer Red Eye which is in a Davis Treadle Sewing Machine Base. There is a part attached to the base that I am not able to identify. I am hoping someone can help me with this by looking at the picture here.

Ask Billy (Lostin51) on the vintage machine thread in the virtual section...he's a treadle expert!

Bobbin winder?

it's called a "spooler" and yes..it's for winding bobbins for machines in the base that don't have a bobbin winder. Wish I could find one of those...need one for my W&W 8!! :)

Thank you so much for your replies. My husband thought it might be spool winder, but we weren't completely sure. My machine also has the regular bobbin winder on the machine itself.
