Question - Diamond Log Cabin Tree Skirt (smaller version?)

Has anyone made the Eleanor Burns (Quilt in a Day) Diamond Log Cabin Tree Skirt? I don't need it to be so large (74"). I was wondering if anyone made a smaller version of it. If so, did you use narrower strips, or did you do less rows around the diamond center. How big did it end up when finished (approximately)?

Are there any online charts/calculators to estimate the finished size of such a pattern?

Thanks!

There is a pattern for a Diamond Log Cabin table topper that measures 46 inches from point to point. It is in the Fons & Porter's Love Of Quilting magazine from Nov/Dec. 2010 if you have that one. All you would need to do is cut the slit and circle for the tree. The table topper is under "Christmas Memories"by Diane Tomlinson. Don't know if this helps but I am thinking of doing it next year for my tree.
