Ok, this is my first time to post, so if I mess up, just excuse the newbie! I purchased a quilted Christmas panel for a tree skirt. I made the tree skirt last year and it turned out great. My question: On the excess fabric there are 8 beautiful color angels of different sizes on a white background with stars. There were no instructions at all as to what these were for. Does anyone have an idea? They are too pretty to just throw away but I certainly don't know what to do with them!!

Applique with them?? Would the work on the tree skirt?
Make pillows? or use as appliques?
they were supposed to be cut out nad appliqued on the treeskirt
Use then as ornaments on the tree? Cut them out, sew them with a backing stuff then and away you go
Make a throw, will be cool and match the tree skirt.
Christmas Post Cards. They can be mailed. There are several books that show how and are quick and easy.
Make a wall hanging or a table runner for your dining or coffee table.
Put them on sweat shirts, stockings, bibs, teatowels etc.
This post is in the classifieds -
Are you wanting to sell the scraps? Or wanting ideas for how to use them yourself? In either case, a photo or scan of them would be helpful. |
How about a wallhanging?
I've often wondered that myself. Now I know what I'd do. Thanks.
I either make pillows, a small quilt hanging, applique on a jacket or bag or ornaments! Fun! Lagniappe!
I usually put in my scraps and either cut squares with the leftovers or strips. Have bins with all sizes of squares and loads of 2 1/2" strips. When I am in the mood, dig into these bins and make scrap quilts.
I don't know the size of the pieces, but it maybe panel sections could be used in an attic windows item.
They usually include them as ornaments.

apilaque thm on the tree shirt over the same design with a little styffing inside to make them PUFF out....
Use them on the borders of a Christmas quilt, or on the backing just 'for pretty'. Applique them or if there is enough room around them to cut into squares or rectangles, use them as a block in a christmas quilt or on the back.
many different ways to use them as you've seen from the responses. warm quilt hugs, sue in CA |
Have fun with them. I think they were supposed to be appliqued to the skirt, but could be used as ornaments, or appliqued onto many different items, it; pot holders, table runners, place mats, etc. Let your imagination run
I'd make a wall hanging.
Is that a basset hound. I have two that I love dearly

The ornaments on the Nancy Halverson Advent Calendar are made by bonding the design to either felt or wool. Then they are cut out (again). Then hot glue a loop hanger (a 2" piece of crochet cotton) on the back. This would probably work with your left overs.

How about a table runner with other (pieced) blocks in between the angels? That would be very nice, I think.
Did you say they were already quilted? If so you could use them in a X-mas quilt and they would stand out as trapuntoed, as long as you appliqued them down and then did no quilting on top of them.Or perhaps a X-mas tree ornament. Good luck and have fun with them.

Make them into ornaments, applique them on a pillow, etc.
Thanks everyone...great ideas! I'm sorry but I didn't know where this post went to. LOL Got a PM from the Admin telling me that it had been moved. So sorry, still trying to navigate Board.
