My DH surprised me last year with 6 honeybuns of Modas line "Neptune" by Tula Pink. I'm in love with that line, probably because my father was a commercial lobster fisherman. I haven't been able to cut into them yet - waiting on that perfect project.
The other night DH said to me, why not make a hexagon quilt out of them, I think that would be really awesome. And I have to agree. My question - what size hexagon should I print? A honeybun is 1.5" high.. so what size hexie would be best to make? |
If you use a template to cut each and every one of the little things, you'll get 1" hexagons. Good luck with that!

Here is the pattern for a quilt I just did with a honeybun. I used yardage for the outside of each block. This is fun and easy. I made it small and had enough left over for another. I used a 3 1/2 square instead of the HST. |

1" hexagons would be mighty tiny! :) Here's what I made with a couple of honeybuns. I call it "Log Cabin On Steroids", HAHA! :D

I would do something other than tiny hexagons...The patterns shown here would be great...
