My DH surprised me last year with 6 honeybuns of Modas line "Neptune" by Tula Pink. I'm in love with that line, probably because my father was a commercial lobster fisherman. I haven't been able to cut into them yet - waiting on that perfect project.

The other night DH said to me, why not make a hexagon quilt out of them, I think that would be really awesome. And I have to agree.

My question - what size hexagon should I print? A honeybun is 1.5" high.. so what size hexie would be best to make?

If you use a template to cut each and every one of the little things, you'll get 1" hexagons. Good luck with that!

Here is the pattern for a quilt I just did with a honeybun. I used yardage for the outside of each block. This is fun and easy. I made it small and had enough left over for another. I used a 3 1/2 square instead of the HST.

1" hexagons would be mighty tiny! :) Here's what I made with a couple of honeybuns. I call it "Log Cabin On Steroids", HAHA! :D

I would do something other than tiny hexagons...The patterns shown here would be great...

Very easy. Take one strip and cut it in half and then sew the two halves together lengthwise. Then just start adding additional strips to it buy sewing around and around. It just grows and grows in size. :)
