Exactly. Stiff machine embroidery feels cheap on soft clothes no matter how pretty the design. I think my friend needs some lessons. And her designs always have ripples, like the design is sucking in the fabric, in the fabric around the design. She said that was normal for machine embroidery
this totally isn't normal no matter what you are emb on. I agree she may need lessons or at least someone at a LQS that can answer her questions or steer her in the right direction. Not only does stiff embroidery feel cheap the clothing won't lay right either. Is there a place around where she can go for help. If not have her check out rnkdistributin.com's website for lots of info on embroiderying or even emblibrary.com, they have lots of tutorials and projects and infor as well on stablizers.

Stababilizer makes a big difference. I also use Floriani.
